About Olsburg

The infrastructure of Olsburg, Kansas (pop. 219) is solid and well-planned.  Electrical power is supplied by Evergy and the City has water wells that service the entire community.

City Hall

In the event the wells need repair, a secondary system is in place with water coming from Pottawatomie County Rural Water District #2.

In 2006, Twin Valley Telephone made an investment in our community and the outlying rural area by installing fiber-optic lines that bring telephone, digital cable TV, and DSL internet service.

Olsburg Community Swimming Pool

Our city park is a hot spot during the summer months where young and old alike can relax and be refreshed by a dip in the Olsburg Community Swimming Pool.   The pool is 3’ to 9’ deep with a slide and kiddie pool.  The adjacent park provides plenty of room for running, jumping, and climbing.

L. K & W. Replica Train

The centerpiece of the park is a miniature version of an L. K. & W. train.  The wooden train was assembled with volunteer time and sits on the site of what once was the Leavenworth, Kansas, and Western Railway (L.K.& W.)   The L. K. & W. was instrumental in the founding of our community.

Olsburg Volunteer Fire Department

Olsburg is home to Pottawatomie County Fire District #6 which provides not only firefighting services but also has a top-ranked First Responder team.  In 2018 our Fire District received a major upgrade of a new building to house the Fire Department.
